Schools Competition

‘A Salmon’ poem competition

Children can let their imagination run wild and write a poem.  The only rule is that it has to be about a salmon.

Please write the child’s name, class and school on the back of the poem.

All poems must be entered as hard copy (not electronically.)

They will be judged in two categories: P1 – P3 and P4-P7.  A winner from each category will receive a £25 book token.  Poems will be judged by a panel of judges.  In addition the winner will win a class visit to our genetics laboratory for a fun day of genetics activities.  We will provide transport to and from your school for this.

Completed entries need to be returned to us by 31st May and winners will be announced before the end of term.  We are able to collect poems from Inverness Schools.  Please bundle by class with information about school, class and class teacher clearly marked on the bundle.  Alternatively poems can be dropped off at Inverness College UHI or posted to us marked for the attention of Melanie Manwaring-Mckay, at Inverness College UHI, 1 Inverness Campus, Inverness, IV2 5NA.

We will be unable to return the entries so please ensure children keep a copy.

For further information please contact us on the details provided below.

We look forward to reading some masterpieces.
