School Visit to Scotland's Salmon Festival

On Friday 1st September local schoolchildren visited the Scotland's Salmon Festival free Family Fair at Bught Park. They had a busy schedule of fishy and river related activities including: electrofishing with the local fisheries Boards, where children enjoyed the new experience of holding a baby eel and seeing what species apart from salmon live in the River Ness; an art session with The Creeping Toad, making rivers and fishy creatures out of card; a casting lesson on the Park with SANA coaches, where some children learned two casting methods - one standing and one kneeling, and learning about dolphins and handling dolphin skulls was another particular highlight of the childrens' day.
